Our Founder's Story
I was born in San Francisco and raised by a single mother who worked tirelessly to provide for me and my two younger siblings. Head Start was there for us—a place that not only supported my early learning but lifted our family during a time when we needed it most. I carry deep gratitude for those who believed in me when I was just a child with big dreams.
My path has never been mine alone. It has been shaped by the families who opened their doors during home visits, the children whose laughter reminded me of what’s at stake, the colleagues who shared their wisdom, and the mentors who trusted me with greater responsibility.
From local programs to the Pacific Islands and ultimately to the federal stage, I have been humbled by the privilege of serving alongside so many who share a common purpose: to create better futures for children and families.
Through every long day and each journey away from home, my greatest blessing has been the constant love of my husband and children. They have been my anchor, my encouragers, and my safe harbor—reminding me of why this work matters. My extended family, too, continues to surround me with quiet strength, cheering me on and even lending their hands behind the scenes as RISE Partners begins to grow.
RISE Partners is my way of giving back—of honoring the investment so many made in me, and extending that same support to organizations and leaders who are working every day to uplift their communities.
My story is, at its heart, one of gratitude—deep respect and appreciation for all the mission-driven organizations,
for the people who walked with me, and
for the chance to now help others rise.
